McInally praise for his strike force

by Louise Shaw

Jim McInally praised his strike force of Andy Rogers and Rory McAllister as they helped push Peterhead to a 4-2 victory against Elgin at Borough Briggs.

He said: “When you have got McAllister and Rogers up front you know they can they can do anything and they just ripped Elgin apart for five minutes and won the game for us. I am delighted with the win and it will be great for confidence that is the main thing.”

Rogers gave Peterhead the lead before a double from McAllister and a Cowie strike finished off the scoring.

Elgin got two late consolation goals as Craig Gunn netted on the 86th minute and Sam Urquart headed home in added time.

Elgin assistant manager Bob Beckworth said: “We didn’t come out and play at the start of the second half and by the time we did we were already chasing the game. We have got the players and we will turn it round, I still believe we are a top four team.”
