Jack faces prospect of losing out on transfer market

Ross Jack looked back on Thursday’s defeat at Peterhead as three more points that got away after insisting his side put in a great shift against the league leaders.

Jack was left to ponder what might have been for a third successive outing by his players as they failed to hold an early lead - and now know that there is simply no room for further mistakes.

“We played extremely well on Thursday but could not get the second goal after taking a deserved lead, with their goalkeeper putting in some stunning saves.

“Again though we saw the difference that always seems to happen between sides at the top and bottom of the league - when you are down there no mater how well you play the breaks just don’t seem to fall for you.

“But that is the way things have been going for us of late - right up until the last minute on Thursday I felt our players were outstanding, they put in a great shift so to take nothing from the game is a very hard pill to swallow.”

Jack is trying hard to bolster his squad but it remains to be seen if he will have the ability to do that in the January transfer window.  Indeed the manager is already facing the prospect of at least one of his current squad departing.

The manager said: “Dachi Khutsishvili’s deal with has ended and he looks unlikely to extend his stay to the end of the season.

“We have been talking to him about a new deal but it is very doubtful if we are gong to reach any sort of agreement.”
